The Senses and Sensing seed seminar explored how to move past human-centric biases and how sense may be different for marine organisms. Activities included opportunities for fieldwork and artistic exploration that provided hands-on ways of continuing to think about sensation and memory in the ocean.
The speakers who generously shared their ideas and experiences with us in order to spur discussion were: Jan Newton, Sofia Crespo & Entangled Others, Yosh Han, Stacy Alaimo, Christine Cole, Ashon Crawley, and Briana Abrahms.
One of the workshop activities was an invitation to listen to the Smell Walk, an audio experience created by perfumer Yosh Han.
